Students Identified by Blue Jeans

On the left is Bart Meersschaert. Bart is the Strategic Solutions Manager at EskoArtwork in the Dayton area. That's Meersschaert, two e's, two s's, and a chart with an e stuck between the a and the r. I could say his last name before I could spell it, and saying Meersschaert took me some practice. Bart visited the JVS last March and we got the Graphic Arts, Interactive Media and Computer Information Technology classes together to enjoy a presentation he gave about the packaging design process. Bart demonstrated some of the software tools and applications used in designing packaging. He gave a demo that used a figure of a gnome that looks like the Travelocity gnome. Bart claims he had the gnome first.

The range of tools and the disciplines associated with high-tech packaging design cut across all three programs and all students found something related to what they were studying in his presentation. Bart's own background and education includes, programming, graphic design, and all things media.

Bart is Belgian, Esko is a Belgian company in it's origins, and his occasional French word and expressions really wowed the young ladies, especially. Bart has given similar demonstrations to customers around the world over many years. We are so fortunate to have gentlemen like Bart come in and give demonstrations of professional software, tools, and business processes. Whenever I think of Bart and the good deed he did for us last March, I am gleeful and grateful. He has that kind of effect on people--a really good guy.
